Staff has prepared a resolution canceling the regularly scheduled City Council meetings of August 27, 2019 and September 10, 2019 and scheduling a Special City Council meeting on Monday, September 9, 2019.
BACKGROUND
Past practice has been for the second regularly scheduled Council meeting in August to be canceled.
Staff is proposing canceling the Regular City Council meeting scheduled for September 10, 2019, and holding in its place, a Special City Council meeting on Monday, September 9, 2019. This request is being made to to accommodate the schedule of the representatives from National Demographics Corporation ("NDC"), the City's demographer for the transition to By-District Councilmember Elections. NDC attendance is necessary for the fourth public hearing in order to present draft district maps and respond to questions from Council and the public.
DISCUSSION
Staff has prepared the attached resolution in order to give the public and employees proper notice of the cancellations.

None.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of the resolution canceling the regularly scheduled Council meetings of August 27, 2019 and September 10, 2019, and scheduling a Special City Council meeting on Monday, September 9, 2019.
