Staff has prepared Resolutions appointing Individuals to serve on the Human Relations Commission, Park & Recreation Commission and Senior Commission.
BACKGROUND
A recruitment process was initiated for the scheduled term expirations and existing vacancies on the following boards and commissions:

Interested parties were asked to submit applications to the City Clerk. On June 17, 2019 Councilmembers conducted interviews for applicants to the Human Relations Commission, Park & Recreation Commission, and Senior Commission.
DISCUSSION
Board and commission members are appointed by the Mayor with approval of the City Council. At the request of Mayor Dutra-Vernaci, resolutions have been prepared re/appointing the following individuals:
Human Relations Commission
- Appoint Jonathan Pettey to a four (4) year term expiring June 25, 2023
- Appoint Anson Tjing as Alternate to a four (4) year term expiring June 25, 2023
- Appoint Nkechi "Bridget" Uzoew as Alternate to a four (4) year term expiring June 25, 2023
Park & Recreation Commission
- Appoint Cheris Crocker-Root as Alternate to a four (4) year term expiring June 25, 2024
Senior Commission
- Appoint Ashvinkumar Panchal as Alternate to a four (4) year term expiring June 25, 2023
FISCAL IMPACT
The City provides a stipend of $39 per meeting, up to $78 per month, for each meeting attended by Commissioner or Alternate Commissioner.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends City Council adopt resolutions appointing individuals to serve on the Human Relations Commission, Park & Recreation Commission, and Senior Commission as outlined above.
